Flagstaff City Council recently approved rezoning for the Sky Cottages at Timber Sky development near Woody Mountain Road. The project includes 202 one- and two-story semi-detached rental units on roughly 23 acres.

In a separate action, the council unanimously approved rezoning for The Lofts at Continental on 13 acres at 5531 East Cortland Boulevard. This multi-family community will feature 139 dwelling units, with 10 percent designated as affordable housing. The total project cost is approximately $5.7 million, including $1.6 million for construction costs.

Both approvals occurred in early to mid-September. The Sky Cottages developer aims to break ground within the next 12 months. The Lofts plan received first reading approval two weeks prior to the final vote.
