Construction on Port Canaveral's new 13-story parking garage advanced notably when crews successfully lowered a 600-square-foot, 36.7-ton precast concrete wall section into place, marking the start of vertical building phase.[1] The $93 million project, designed to add 3,732 spaces near Cruise Terminal 6 East, underscores ongoing infrastructure enhancements at the port.[2]

"Port Canaveral is not only the world’s busiest cruise port, but also one of the nation’s most convenient and easily accessible. Our focus on our customers is essential to delivering a high-quality guest experience," said Captain John W. Murray, Port Canaveral CEO.[1]

Merritt Island-based Ivey’s Construction holds the design-build contract, partnering with Finfrock Construction for precast elements. This milestone highlights the firm's expertise in large-scale port projects, building on a 50-year relationship with the Canaveral Port Authority.[1][3] The garage, spanning 1.2 million square feet, will enhance parking capacity to meet rising cruise passenger demand.

"Ivey’s Construction, along with our design-build partners at Finfrock, are proud and honored to be part of this cutting-edge project which benefits the local economy and continues our 50-year relationship with the Canaveral Port Authority and the Brevard County community," said Rocky Johnson, Vice President of Ivey’s Construction.[1]

With vertical construction now underway, the facility remains on track for a fall 2026 opening. This progress aligns with broader Port Canaveral initiatives, including expansions at Cruise Terminals 5 and 10, positioning the port to support increased operations and regional accessibility in the near term.
