Construction crews continue work on the Westin Cocoa Beach Resort & Spa, a major development valued at $420 million, with officials confirming steady advancement as of early March.1 Located at 1300 N. Atlantic Ave. on the site of the former International Palms Resort, the project broke ground in September 2024 and reached a topping-off milestone late last year.

Project Features and Timeline

The resort will span 502 rooms and include 11 food and beverage outlets, a spa, surfing wave pool, pools, tennis and pickleball courts, fitness center, and retail spaces. Indoor and outdoor event spaces total nearly 124,000 square feet, complemented by a parking garage for 800 vehicles. Completion is anticipated by 2027, potentially in time for Memorial Day.12

Everything seems to be going as planned.

The development is projected to employ 500 staff members upon opening, generating 1,800 direct and indirect jobs in its first year.2 Mayor Capizzi noted the tax revenue potential, estimating $1.8 million annually for the city, providing a buffer against potential property tax changes.

In Cocoa Village, permitting advances for a $93 million luxury apartment complex by Framework Group, featuring 220 to 241 units, ground-floor retail, and a parking garage. While construction awaits final approvals, the project forecasts 1,030 construction jobs and 306 operational roles.3

Looking ahead, the resort's 2027 debut will enhance hospitality options, while apartment progress could spur vertical construction soon, bolstering professional prospects in construction, management, and services.
